Nettxio Hires Two Special Needs Assistants

When I was interviewing for Nettxio’s Director of Marketing role, I had two glaring takeaways.

The leadership team has a hard and fast rule of not engaging in self-promotion. They wear their humbleness. It would seriously give them heart palpitations if I regularly clogged up Nettxio’s socials with the way they convert success to currency for community impact.

Second, Nettxio has made looking after their employees THE priority. They look for avenues to be active contributors to their well-being. Always brainstorming ways to do more. Grow and refine the benefits, know when there’s an employee who needs to be shown patience and compassion.

This week, Nettxio signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Përparimi Resource Center (Qendra Burimore “Përparimi”), which is a special needs school for children who cannot integrate into the regular schools in Kosovo. The two Special Needs Assistants will be employees of Nettxio, but will work as extra hands in the school to provide support to the teachers and the children.

The coolest thing about this news is this arrangement arose from a lunchtime conversation in October with our Director of Global Human Resources, Ermira, who has a son at the school. Her willingness to share a concern and a vulnerability invoked immediate action in our leadership to get creative and be a solution. Less than a month later, Ermira sent me a photo from the contract signing and the following message:

“Today is one of the most emotional days in my whole life and I simply can’t find the words to express my gratitude towards Ed and Fatos. I am sincerely grateful for your kindness and willingness to help and support those in need.”

Ermira is a knockout performer every day for Nettxio. It’s truly spectacular what she accomplishes and how seen she makes every employee feel. Your face has no choice but to smile when you see her, feel her energy. The take-your-breath-away best part though is that she allows us in to her whole life, shares her family and the monsters that keep her up at night. And this story is a stellar example of the change that can be ignited when there’s a willingness to connect. To leave gates to walk through in the walls that surround us all sometimes. Especially at work.

Risking the heart palpitation potential to say THANK YOU to Nettxio for creating a culture where it feels safe to share and for rewarding that sharing with action.
