Position Overview

The Construction Manager is responsible for applying effective project management practices and procedures to assigned jobs to align project objectives with business goals. The Construction Manager will be responsible for maintaining profit objectives over projects. This position will establish a close relationship with customers to generate a steady flow of new project business. The Construction Manager is relied upon heavily to demonstrate dedication to safety and quality control within our projects. This individual shall always uphold the foundational goals of Nettxio – “Client Service, Quality, and Safety” – to enhance the integrity for which the organization has become known.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist PM’s and SR PM’s with company projects from beginning to end, ensuring all projects are completed within the time and budgetary constraints that have been established and approved for each of the Construction Manager’s assigned jobs.
  • Take responsibility for establishing project objectives, procedures, SOW, performance standards, timelines, budgets, material requirements, equipment needs, etc., and ensure all projects adhere to the objectives.
  • Develop and follow through on project plans, especially timelines and budgets.
  • Adhere to and maintain, as an average, acceptable levels of margin on all projects managed, through effective use of crew hours, creating efficiencies for crews, cost control, etc.
  • Communicate as necessary with a range of individuals from Crew Members, Crew Foreman, Field Supervisors, Senior Managers, Subcontractors, Suppliers, etc.
  • Maintain and complete all assigned project documents, in accordance with the Nettxio established guidelines.
  • Support PM’s and SR PM’s new establishment of working relationships with customers that are awarding work to Nettxio. Coordination, management, and development of business within the assigned geographic area.
  • Reviewing and completing project closeout procedures, internal and external, with field crews and project management.
  • Conduct regular Quality Control Inspections prior to field crews leaving the respective sites.
  • Adhere to all Nettxio procedures and policies for bidding, tracking, invoicing, and follow-up on the Nettxio Project Management software.
  • Delegate work, as necessary, to the assigned Project Assistant to efficiently complete the tasks associated with project bid, active work, and closeout.
  • Participation in weekly crew/project development conference call to convey scheduling and material needs for the upcoming week’s work.
  • Daily communications with customers and Nettxio Management Team via phone or email to ensure complete knowledge and understanding of customers’ current and upcoming projects.
  • Assist PM’s with time entry approval and annual review for field and project assistants.
  • Keeps abreast of Nettxio and customer standards and industry standards and trends.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering or related field of study plus 2 to 5 years of related experience managing construction projects.
  • PMP certification or equivalent through PMI or similar professional/educational institute.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and procedures, as they apply to Nettxio and the telecommunications industry
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex construction related projects
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple deployments, deadlines, and documentation simultaneously.
  • Calm under pressure, with a problem-solving mindset and ability to navigate fast-paced, high-stakes situations
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Ability to set goals and expectations and hold others accountable, while being able to also encourage and mentor others; demonstrated skills in coordinating field personnel and resources.
  • Professional presentation in speech and appearance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to manage professional interactions with subcontractors, customers, and project stakeholders, with the ability to communicate in a manner that is understood by those across all levels
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning.
  • Proven ability to lead, train and develop others.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to meet qualifications required to be an insured company driver.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to travel with overnight stays to visit Nettxio active job sites and customers on a regular basis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and comfort using software platforms or project tracking tools.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Familiarity with crane/lift operations, rigging, or heavy equipment logistics
  • Exposure to EH&S protocols or telecom deployment workflows
  • Experience working with subcontractor networks or in a customer-facing operations environment
  • Background using procurement, dispatch, or scheduling software tools
